How
much does it cost to participate in your program?
Nothing. We will never ask for
money from you. We will only pay your charity for your empty cartridges. There
are no start-up fees or materials you need to buy.
How
hard is it to recycle with TONERinx?
It is very easy. The only thing
we will ever ask of you is that you let the appropriate people in your organization
know that they should save their empty cartridges and used cell phones. We
will pick up your items, sort them, properly recycle anything that has
no value,
and
send
a check
to your non-profit organization. There's no sorting, packing, or shipping for
you to do.
Do
I have to buy remanufactured cartridges or cell phones from TONERinx?
No. We don't sell anything. We
just recycle e-waste.
Do
you sell remanufactured cartridges or cell phones?
No, we are not a remanufacturer.
We only collect and redistribute items based upon worldwide demand.
How
do I get my items picked up?
You Recycling Coordinator should
schedule a regular pickup (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). Or you can just
give
us a call and ask us to pick up your items on our next scheduled pick-up
in your area. We will be very prompt.
What
do you do with the items you collect?
We gather thousands of cartridges
and used cell phones per month and sell them to remanufacturers throughout
the nation, wherever demand
is greatest for particular items.
Should
I keep the box the cartridge came in?
It is usually easier for you to
put your empty toner cartridge in the box that your new cartridge came in, and
write "RECYCLE" on the box. This helps prevent any toner leakage and
helps us to identify the cartridge when we get it back to our warehouse. There
is no need to keep boxes for inkjet cartridges, but if you find it easier or
cleaner to do so, we will make sure that the packaging is properly recycled.
Can
you recycle cartridges that have already been remanufactured?
TONERinx pays mostly for OEM (virgin)
cartridges that have not been previously remanufactured. There is a small list
of remanufactured cartridges that we can re-sell. Please contact us for specifics.
If we collect remanufactured cartridges from you that we cannot pay you for,
we will properly dispose of them through standard plastic recycling programs.
What
does OEM stand for?
Original Equipment Manufacturer.
OEM cartridges are those made by Hewlett Packard, Canon, Lexmark, Brother, Apple,
IBM, Xerox, Panasonic, Compaq, etc, that haven't been previously remanufactured.
